Flor de Nelas is a tribute to the people of the village of Nelas, who since immemorial time, demonstrated an enormous passion for the emblematic traditional grape varieties of the Dão region and its wine. In Nelas, it’s located the Center for the Dão Wine Studies, where since 1946, innumerable grape varieties that are unique in the country and the World have been preserved, revealing a unique affection for the Dão. The emblem of Nelas had once upon a time inscribed in it the phrase “Coração do Dão”, “Heart of the Dão” in English. Today the emblem still maintains an image of grapes. The Flor de Nelas wines are produced with the intent of praising all this historical heritage.

The Flor de Nelas wine project already has numerous vintages, ranging from classic Dão wines such as Flor de Nelas Selection and RESERVA, as well as the more limited and exclusive editions, like the 100% Encruzado and the red wine from Terras de Senhorim of old vines. We have great care in maintaining this regional profile, therefore the grapes from our properties are accompanied and harvested accordingly, always with the concern to bring to the wine lover the true character of the Dão and Nelas.
